The Rules of Regular and Irregular Plurals

For most nouns, just add -s			For nouns ending in s, x, z, ch or sh, add -es

For some words ending in o, add -es			However, for some words ending in o, just add -s

The plural of many words ending in o can be spelt with -s or -es.			photo	photos

For some words ending in f, change the f to a v and add -es			However, for some words ending in f, just add -s

self	selves		The plural of some nouns ending in f can be spelt using either variation.

For some nouns ending in ife, change the f to a v and then add -s			For common nouns that end with consonant + y, change the y to an i and then add -es

Some nouns are the same in both singular and plural from			For some nouns, change other letters or just change the word completely!

In my flat there are two bedrooms. My bedroom is on the right of the bathroom, near my parents’ bedroom. In front of my bedroom there is a small study. That’s where I study. There is a living room with two big windows, a toilet and a dining room. The Kitchen is on the left of the toilet.

There is no garden but there is a garage for my father’s car.

Comemoração do Dia Europeu das Línguas no British Council em Lisboa

Tive conhecimento por uma colega e acho que vale a pena ir! 

Pelo que vi no programa parece-me que irei passar um dia diferente, mas muito interessante...

Todos os anos a rede EUNIC Portugal reúne-se para comemorar o Dia Europeu das Línguas.

No próximo dia 23, das 14:00 às 19:30, a EUNIC Portugal e a Representação da Comissão Europeia em Portugal assinalam este dia com um programa cultural, no jardim e instalações da Biblioteca Palácio Galveias, Campo Pequeno, Lisboa, com entrada gratuita.

Os visitantes são convidados a mergulhar, com todos os sentidos, em treze línguas europeias: alemão, checo, croata, espanhol, finlandês, francês, georgiano, grego, italiano, inglês, polaco, português e romeno.

Entre muitas outras atividades, os participantes podem participar em mini conversas de 5 minutos nas línguas da sua escolha – “speak dating” – participar num jogo para testar os seus conhecimentos, assistir e/ou participar em danças para adultos e crianças, assistir a concertos de música italiana ou de tambores. Os visitantes mais pequenos podem, ainda, explorar as línguas europeias através de diversas atividades criativas desde a narração de histórias até oficinas de ilustração e de culinária.

Os participantes no “speak dating” ficarão também habilitados ao sorteio de cursos de línguas, oferecidos por institutos organizadores do Dia Europeu das Línguas 2017.

Usamos o "there to be" para indicar existência de pessoas, situações e objetos. Iguala-se ao verbo "haver" em português. Todavia, em português utilizamos o verbo “ter” para indicar existência também o que não pode acontece em inglês. O verbo “to have” que significa “ter” apenas indica posse.

Por enquanto, estudaremos o “there to be” apenas no presente.
